HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Emma Kile threw 11 touchdown passes Sunday as Wallace State’s flag football team improved to 8-0 with two conference victories at the ACCC Battle for the State, hosted by Southern Union.
The Lady Lions defeated Calhoun 31-0 and Enterprise State 46-6, outscoring the two opponents 77-6.
According to information provided by Wallace State, the sweep stretched the program’s winning streak to 34 games overall and 28 in conference play.
Kile finished the day with 366 passing yards, completing 29 of 37 attempts. Taylor Kindred scored three receiving touchdowns across the two games and added an interception return for a touchdown against Calhoun.
Kindred accounted for three of Wallace State’s five touchdowns in the opener. She caught scoring passes of 8 and 49 yards and returned an interception 52 yards for another score. She also recorded a sack.
Kile completed 15 of 21 passes for 181 yards against Calhoun. In addition to her two touchdown throws to Kindred, she connected with Mariah Ragland for a 26-yard score and Destinee Ealy for a 10-yard touchdown.
Romajah Walton’s seven flag pulls and Ma’Kyla Williams’ two sacks helped Wallace State hold Calhoun scoreless.
Against Enterprise State, Kile distributed seven touchdown passes among six receivers while completing 14 of 16 attempts for 185 yards.
Ealy caught two touchdown passes. Kindred finished with three receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown, while Telecia Ransom added three catches for 35 yards and a score.
Takaya Binder, Ragland and Lilly Waldrop each contributed a touchdown reception.
Waldrop also intercepted three passes to lead the defense. Walton added four flag pulls and a sack as the Lady Lions allowed just one touchdown across the two games.
