YOUTH FOOTBALL: Cold Springs splits games with Fairview; week 5 scoring recap

CULLMAN, Ala. – We’re at the halfway point of the season, and the games are proving to be more and more important when it comes to who is getting into the playoffs. The Fairview Aggies hosted the Cold Springs Eagles, the Holly Pond Broncos traveled to take on the Cullman Bearcats, the West Point Warriors hosted the Vinemont Eagles and the Addison Bulldogs traveled to take on the Good Hope Raiders.

The Cold Springs Eagles knocked off the Fairview Aggies in the Fireplug game, 20-6, and the Aggies ended up taking care of the Eagles in the Wee-Wee game, 27-6. The Cullman Bearcats rolled past the Holly Pond Broncos in the Fireplug game, 33-6. The Broncos routed the Bearcats, 33-6, in the Wee-Wee game, and Cullman collected a 14-0 shutout win over Holly Pond to close out their day. 

In a low-scoring affair, the Vinemont Eagles shut out the West Point Warriors, 7-0. The Warriors knocked off the Eagles in the Wee-Wee game, 14-7, and it was all Vinemont in the Pee-Wee game, as they ended up getting past West Point, 39-6. The Good Hope Raiders picked up a 30-16 win over the Addison Bulldogs in the Fireplug game. Good Hope collected a 37-6 win over Addison in the Wee-Wee matchup, and the Bulldogs shut out the Raiders in the Pee-Wee game, 29-0.

The West Point Warriors and the Holly Pond Broncos will play their make-up games on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. The games will be played under six-minute quarters. There will be a five-minute halftime, and a two-minute break between contests.
