HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Registration is now open for the fourth annual Ballin’ Like a Bulldog Youth Skills Camp, with plenty of spots still available for young athletes looking to participate this summer.

Hosted by B&D Construction and organized by Hanceville resident Brittani Coker, the two-day basketball camp will take place July 23-24 from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. each day at the Hanceville High School gym. Gym doors will open at 7 for camper drop-off. The camp is open to children entering first through seventh grade in August 2026. The deadline for registration is July 15.

“This year is our fourth year for camp,” Coker said. “The first year we had 61 kids attend, and last year we had 135 campers total, with 63 of them sponsored by strangers from the community.”

Campers will receive instruction from Hanceville High School varsity players, coaches and staff while participating in drills, skill development and team activities throughout the event.

The cost is $50 per camper and includes a basketball. Families with multiple children can also take advantage of a sibling discount, with each additional camper after the first costing $25. Payment is due at the time of registration.

Additionally, campers will receive snacks, water and lunch both days along with a goody bag filled with school supplies, personal hygiene items, candy and small toys at the conclusion of camp.

“At the end of camp, every camper gets to take home a brand-new basketball,” Coker said. “The goodie bags, school supplies and lunches are all made possible through donations from local businesses and community members. This camp is truly community-supported, and that support helps us make sure every kid is cared for throughout the event.”

All proceeds from the camp are donated back into the local Youth Basketball Association. Last year’s camp proceeds helped provide a storage building for the organization.

With camp right around the corner, Coker and the organizers are currently seeking additional camper sponsors and any extra donations of snacks and bottled water for the event.

“We are currently needing sponsors for camper fees and actively accepting snack and water donations for camp,” Coker said. “Everything donated is 100% tax deductible.”

She added, “I also have an Amazon Wishlist linked on our Facebook event page to make other donations easy, for those more comfortable donating items rather than money.”
