Bonnie passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, in her hometown of Cullman, Alabama, departing this life with grace and a heart full of faith. Born on November 19, 1939, Bonnie’s life was a tapestry woven with love and devotion to both her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ. Bonnie’s spirit was defined by her passion for singing gospel music and praising God. This passion extended beyond her voice, blossoming in every corner of her life. She embraced opportunities to share her faith in remarkable ways — from joining joyous gospel cruises with Jessie Dickson to embarking on mission trips in Haiti with women’s groups. Fearless in her witnessing, Bonnie’s heart knew no bounds. Her love radiated to all whom she met, especially her cherished family, to whom she wished nothing more than for them to know Jesus as deeply as she did.
Her journey also carried her through many interesting paths. She held diverse roles including working with the FBI and serving as a Dorm Director at Wallace State Community College. In these roles, she found immense joy and purpose, particularly in her dedication to the children she lovingly cared for—a true testament to the nurturing spirit that defined her. Despite her readiness to be reunited with her Savior, Bonnie’s devotion to family was evident until the end. She was steadfast in ensuring their well-being before she embarked on her eternal rest.
Bonnie is survived by her loving children, Carol Graves, and Grayling Graves. Her legacy lives on in her adored grandchildren: Brandi (Drew) McCravy-Lenz, Michelle (Kevin) Hutson, Kyle (Stafford) Graves, Matt Graves, and Seth Graves. She also treasured her sister, Melissa (Steven) Shapleigh, and sister-in-law, Irma Tubbs, alongside a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Orval E. and Ruby Campbell Tubbs, as well as her siblings Horace Tubbs, Sherman Tubbs, Rogenia Kent, and Geraldine Tubbs.
Her life was a beacon of light, inspiring all with her joyful spirit, enduring faith, and boundless love. Though she has been called home, the melody of her praise and the warmth of her love will resonate in the hearts of her family forever.
