CULLMAN, Ala. — Cullman Regional is proud to welcome a new provider team to the Cullman Regional Wound Care Clinic. Conrad Cash, CRNP, and Jessica Martin, CRNP, have joined Dr. Greg Thompson and Dr. Carlos Villar in providing wound care services to patients.

Cullman Regional’s Wound Care Clinic is the only clinic in Cullman to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a safe and evidence-based treatment proven to speed the healing process of wounds. Wounds require more oxygen than normal to heal. In a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a patient’s lungs gather much more oxygen than with normal air pressure, allowing the blood to carry an increased amount of oxygen to the wound, helping it to heal more effectively.

“HBOT in conjunction with other treatments gives patients the most effective treatment available for wounds,” said Cash, the clinic’s manager. “We’re proud to offer this advanced level of care to help improve patient outcomes and quality of life.”

At Cullman Regional’s Wound Care Clinic, the hyperbaric oxygen chambers are clear and equipped with televisions and comfortable bedding to ensure patient comfort. A typical course of treatment involves 90-minute therapy sessions, five days a week, over a four-to-six-week period.

The Wound Care Clinic offers specialized care for chronic or non-healing wounds through HBOT, debridement, wound dressing, specialized shoes and patient education.
