Willie Willingham, Doctor J.D. Caldwell, Ealie Beard and Howard Griffin were injured, none seriously, in an auto wreck on Thursday morning, near Hartselle.

Mrs. Y.W. Freeman, 72, of Route Four, Cullman, has returned from a visit to the grave of her son, A.J. Freeman in France. She made the trip to Europe along with 70 other Gold Star Mothers.

Miss Kate Walton and Mrs. E.A. Lowery spent Sunday in Athens.

George Abbott has returned from a visit to relatives in South Carolina.

John Imbusch underwent an appendectomy on Wednesday.

A new store will open on Saturday morning on First Avenue West. This ready-to-wear store is owned by P.J. and

M.H. Woodard and offers among its bargains, 400 dozen pair of shoes, 400 dozen overalls, 1,000 dozen pair of hose, 1,000 blankets, 500 men and boy’s suits – all at bargain prices. Adv.

Doctor J.G. Daves will next week move his office from the Buchmann Building to the Leigeber Building in First Avenue East – Adv.

The Bearcats will play Holly Pond on September 23 for the first game of the season.

The Hi-Y Club at Cullman County High School has chosen Alvin Camp, president, Norman Bender, vice- president, Rob Roy Latta, secretary and Athel Hyatt, treasurer.

Reverend Sim F. Calvert is now compiling a history of the Cullman Baptist Association.

While enroute to Cullman on Saturday, September 10, William Koester of Saint Louis, Missouri was killed in an automobile accident. He with his wife, were enroute to visit Mrs. Koester’s mother, Mrs. William Scheinert, 86, of Cullman.

From the files of 1933:

A basket of delicious grapes was presented to the Tribune family by Mrs. M.A. Jones of Vinemont. Miss Ethel Brown gave the Tribune family a mess of nice green beans on Thursday morning. Our thanks to both ladies for sharing.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Plunkett of Atlanta, Georgia are visiting relatives in Hanceville.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Warren and daughter, Mary left on Wednesday to visit Jim Ratliff in Milan, Texas.

Reuben Hyatt attended the American Legion Convention in Tuscaloosa on Monday and Tuesday.
