FULTONDALE, Ala. – Drake Nichols captured the boys 5K championship and two Good Hope girls earned top-10 finishes Saturday to lead the Raiders at Race on the Rails.
Nichols completed the course at Fultondale Children’s Park in 16:29 to place first overall.
Johnathan Murphy gave Good Hope a second top-10 finisher in the boys race, placing seventh with a time of 18:58.
Oliver Horvath finished 22nd in 20:42. Ben Regas placed 45th in 23:04, Ryland Quinn followed in 53rd at 24:14 and Kinkade White finished 54th in 24:24.
Jada Alsup led Good Hope’s girls with a fifth-place performance, completing the 5K course in 22:24.
Kaysen Wood joined Alsup in the top 10, placing ninth with a time of 23:54. Veronica Horvath finished 20th in 25:27.
Makenna Bauer placed 37th with a time of 28:43, NoraBelle Miller finished 40th in 29:04 and Ashton Gray placed 53rd in 31:09.
Fultondale hosted the meet on a chip-timed greenway course that finished at Fultondale Children’s Park.
Good Hope is scheduled to return to competition Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Vinemont Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Vinemont Sportsplex.
