Mrs. H. Parker was a nice hostess on Thursday for a dance.

George Stiefelmeyer, Grand Master- Elect of the Grand Lodge of Alabama Odd Fellows, attended the district convention of the Rebekahs in Hanceville on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Herrell have named their little daughter, Katherine Rose.

Reverend J.E. Creel of Bangor, Clerk of the Cullman Baptist Association was a visitor to Cullman recently.

Miss Gladys Glover of Baldwin spent Saturday night with Miss Melba Bradford.

Misses Aline and Dorothy Kraft were the Sunday afternoon visitors of Miss Christine Styles.

A two-course luncheon was served by Mrs. Edwin Bottcher for the patrons of Pleasant Hill School on Monday evening. They have plans for a pie supper on Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Odes Lovell lare the parents of a baby girl. They have named her Abbie Sue.

Roy Ashwander of Hanceville has been visiting his sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Paul Motzkus of Cullman, Route Five.

Dan McGuquin, coach of Vanderbilt College died suddenly at age 56. It was believed to be a heart attack.

Mrs. Graf Hart spent Friday with Mrs. Zelma Self of Welcome.

Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Waldrop and Mrs. Verla Bice were in Cullman on Saturday.

Retired Reverend Bede E. Luibel, O.S.B., age 35, the nation’s youngest abbott is now head of St. Bernard College and Abbey.
