RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. On Tuesday, Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) congratulated an Arab High School student following an awards ceremony in Russellville to announce the winners of the 4th Congressional District Art Competition.

“I’m proud to announce that Kennedy Copeland, an 11th grader at Arab High School, won this year’s 4th Congressional District Art Competition’s Best of Show. Her piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol for the next year. She will also go to Washington this summer for the national ceremony. She also received a $12,000 scholarship to the Savannah School of Art and Design,” stated Aderholt.

“Kennedy’s piece, titled American Nightmare, depicts an elderly person wearing a mask.  She skillfully captured the weariness I think we have all experienced this past year, but especially our older population.   Kennedy’s piece, and the winners of all of the categories, did a remarkable job.  I envy their talent and always look forward to seeing their creations.”
