Circuit Solicitor Dave Almon is in the city attending court.
Judge Dan W. Speske of Decatur is holding court in the city.
Frank Trimble is rushing the work on his ginnery.
Miss Ethel M. Towland, the music teacher of the city school is here ready for her work.
F Swann, deputy sheriff of Cullman county is in the city this week attending court.

Miss Ida Musgrove of Birmingham is the charming guest of Miss Gerdes Mitchell.
Miss Lola Hanlin returned to Birmingham after a two weeks visit with her parents.
Miss Elsa Hartung is again able to be out, to the delight of her many friends.
Stanley Wilbourne is again confined to his home. It is hoped that the relapse will not be serious.
Dr. and Mrs. George Bledsoe, Mrs. Sam Green, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fuller and children spent Sunday in Vinemont.
Mrs. Luther Hays and little son, Blair, are visiting at Haleyville, the guest of Mesdames Hays and Curtis.
Miss Eula McEntire and Miss Freda Hartung are spending the week as guests of the Holmes Gap Hotel.

Mr. and Mrs Bert Coe and son, spent Sunday at Ridge Farm, Vinemont, guests of Mrs. M. K. Munson.
Max Oeser the Third has made his appearance in Birmingham. He will emulate his kind grandfather at Cullman.
Cullman Postoffice had two holidays together this week, Sunday and Monday, (Labor Day).
Mothers Meeting will be held at the school house Friday next at 3 p. m. All interested are invited to attend.
Miss Annabelle Hamill of Birmingham and Mrs. Sidney T. Morrow of Kentucky are guests of Mrs J. H. Gillespie.
Grandmaster Judge J. E. Blackwood of Gadsden was in the city this week attending the encampment.
Dr. and Mrs. Walter Cottingham spent Sunday in Birmingham, the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Wade.
Miss Sadie Mallam of Birmingham, who has been the guest of Mrs M. L. Harrison, has returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Darden and little son, Robert Jr. have returned to Birmingham after a few days with Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Herrin at Trimble.
Miss Edith McEntire, Miss Alma Leeth, Claud Griffin and Herschel Thompson took supper at the Holmes Gap Hotel Monday evening.
Miss Ruby Hanlin leaves Monday for Birmingham, after spending the summer with her parents. Miss Corna will remain several weeks longer.
Miss Violet Clark of Russellville is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Phillip Hartung, and will remain here this winter, and attend the High school.
The handsome Hanlin home on seventh street is nearing completion, and Mr. and Mrs. Hanlin hope to take possession by the end of the month.

Work on the new church at Hopewell is progressing nicely.
Messrs. Berryman and Frank Howse are very busy sawing lumber for Hopewell Church.
Christ Evers, a successful young business man of Birmingham, is visiting his brothers, Messrs. Will and Otto.
Mr. and Mrs. Bottcher entertained on the night of the 23rd in honor of Mrs. Clara Rambow, of Birmingham.
Miss Emily Henderson, of East Lake, who has been visiting friends in Cullman and on Hanceville Route 1, has returned home.
Burvel Grimmett, of Good Hope, passed thru “White City” last Sunday.
John Weeks and sister, Ethel, will leave for Blountsville Monday, where they will take up school duties at the N. D. A. S.
Under the leadership of our faithful Superintendent, our Sunday School at Hopewell is progressing nicely. Fellow students, if we were as persistent and strived as hard as our Superintendent, ours would be the best school of the county.
A. J. Manning, his son and charming daughter, Nellie, are expected home Saturday from a pleasure trip to St. Louis, Mo.
Double Wedding In Cullman
At the residence of the brides’ sister, Mrs. Henry Nuss in this city on last Thursday afternoon, a very quiet double wedding took place, when the two beautiful daughters of Elijah Gable, a former citizen of Walter, were married. Miss Katie Gable to J. T. Shew and Miss Tommie Gable to Mr. Leonard Puckett, both gentlemen from Birmingham.
The double ceremony was performed by our genial City Treasurer and Justice of the Peace, Fred J. Buchmann, who never before conferred such happiness in such a brief time.
Mr. and Mrs. Shew are guests of relatives in Village Springs, and Mr and Mrs. Puckett in Decatur. Both couples will be at home to their friends in Birmingham September 4th.
