Since the new bell, recently presented to the M.E. Church South has been properly hung, its volume and tone are all that could be desired.

Mrs. Susie Bounds, although not a member of the Methodist Church, was largely instrumental in raising the money for the bell.

Married at Hopewell Church Sunday were Miss Dessie Mitchell and Mack Bland. They left on No. 3 for Birmingham and other points.

Harry Schlosser, age 53, was found dead in a Montgomery hotel room on Wednesday. He has a host of relatives in Cullman.

Mr. and Mrs. Aaron House, of Gardendale, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bielhardt at White City.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ponder and sons, who have been living for a year in Detroit, Michigan, are spending a few weeks at White City.

Mr. and Mrs. Walmond Ingle and daughter, Sara Jane, of Gardendale, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Rice on Saturday.

Major Miller of Guthery’s Crossroads has a large herd of Hereford cattle pastured in a lespedeza sericea field.

Louis Teichmiller, of Gold Ridge, has a large pond for his livestock.

The Elbert Ponder farm has a large field of kudzu for his herd of Hereford cattle.

J.B. Chandler, of Fairview, has a new 1952 car.

Howell (Stubby) Trimble suffered a leg injury in the football contest between Hanceville and Moulton. David Nelson and Wade Sanders took over the running chores.

Reverend John J. Milford filled the pulpit at Ryan on Sunday.

Walter Roberts, of Hulaco, remains critically ill.

Pictured on the front of the Alabama ninth grade history book is Joe Grob and his dairy cow, Starlight. Joe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grob.
