FAIRVIEW, Ala. – Incorporated in 1967, Fairview is under the mayoral leadership of Keith Henry, who expressed love for his town, saying, “I love the people, I love the closeness of the community, people willing to help out people in need. I love being able to feel safe in my home and even in our parks. Fairview is a great place to live and raise a family, and I am blessed to be a part of this community.”

Fairview resident Jennifer Calahan shared, “Fairview is home. It is such a special small town, not only because it has a most beautiful school campus and park in the middle of town, but also because of the people. The people of Fairview are more than just good people, they are caring people.”

Located between Simcoe and Baileyton, Fairview is bisected by Alabama Highway 69, offering many travelers and visitors the opportunity to experience this quaint municipality. Highlights include the newly re-opened Hutch Restaurant, local favorite Randall Shedd Park, Hopper’s Family Market and the Fairview Quick Stop. For a more leisurely time, try for a hole-in-one at Chesley Oaks Golf Course.

The Hutch Restaurant has been a staple in the Fairview community since 1979. It recently underwent renovations and is now owned by Josiah and Shannon Daily. The restaurant’s building is now completely Fairview Aggie purple, with a new backside porch to provide more seating.

“It’s good to have something to do for the community,” said Josiah Daily when The Hutch re-opened in November.

Shared Shannon Daily, “The people here are so caring and treat everyone with kindness. The people of this community ARE the Hutch and what it stands for. We even incorporated over 1,000 pictures of the people of Fairview throughout the years into our dining tables. We love getting to visit with all the wonderful people that call this community home when they come join us for a meal. The folks that eat with here become like our family (if they aren’t already).”

The Hutch is not the only restaurant in Fairview; the town is also home to Brindley Mountain BBQ, which sadly suffered major fire damage on Oct. 23, 2018. The building was declared a complete loss, but construction on the new one began Feb. 2. Soon, citizens of Fairview (or lovers of barbeque in general) will be able to enjoy barbeque from their favorite place again.
