Requested donations from children include LEGO sets, Barbie dolls, L.O.L. dolls, dinosaur toys, remote-controlled cars, footballs, Paw Patrol toys, make-up, LED light strips, bikes and shoes for ages 2-18.

For teenagers, Dodd suggested hygiene products, blankets, Xbox games, board games and art sets. Necessities such as underwear, socks and deodorant are needed as well.

Kids Loving Kids will provide Christmas for nearly 1,700 kids in three counties.

All gifts that are not designated to go to children who sent requests will be first-come, first-served at the giveaways for children 18 and younger.

Dodd said the organization is in “dire need” of toys. She says there have been more requests and fewer volunteers than in previous years. “We have over 2,000 children this year that are asking for clothes and for toys. We need toys in a huge way.”

To volunteer to help box toys for the giveaways, text or call Dodd at 256-318-4555.
