General Dynamics Mission Systems operates its Precision Structures & Optics facility in Cullman, where it manufactures high-performance precision components for aerospace, defense and other specialized applications.
According to the company, products manufactured in Cullman support targeting and acquisition systems, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, and are designed to withstand demanding military operating environments.
The company’s Cullman operation has a long manufacturing history dating back to its predecessor operations before becoming part of General Dynamics. Today, the facility continues producing precision optical and structural components used in advanced defense systems.
While the recent hiring activity indicates continued investment in the Cullman facility, General Dynamics has not announced a specific expansion project associated with the new positions.
The current job postings, however, represent one of the largest publicly visible hiring efforts by a defense manufacturer in Cullman this summer.
