CULLMAN, Ala. – All four Cullman County youth-football Week 5 series canceled because of extreme heat now have makeup dates, with three scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, and the final series set for Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Addison will visit Fairview and Good Hope will travel to Hanceville on Thursday, with Fireplug games beginning at 5:30 p.m. at both sites.
Vinemont will travel to Cold Springs for a two-division makeup series Thursday beginning at 6:15 p.m. Only Fireplug and Wee-Wee will play.
Holly Pond will close out the Week 5 makeup schedule when it travels to West Point on Tuesday, Sept. 29. That series will begin at 6 p.m. and includes Fireplug, Wee-Wee and Pee-Wee.
The four series were originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, before extreme heat forced their cancellation.
Addison at Fairview
Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Fireplug start
Fairview will host Addison on Thursday, with Fireplug beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Fairview Youth Football Association announced that the makeup series will feature shortened halftimes and shorter intervals between games.
There will be no cheer or twirl performances during the series.
Separate kickoff times for the later divisions have not been announced.
Good Hope at Hanceville
Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Fireplug start
Good Hope will travel to Hanceville on Thursday, with Fireplug beginning at 5:30 p.m.
No changes to the participating divisions have been announced, and separate kickoff times for the later games have not been confirmed.
The shortened halftimes and intervals announced by Fairview apply to the Addison-Fairview series and should not be considered applicable at Hanceville unless announced by that program.
Vinemont at Cold Springs
Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6:15 p.m. series start
Vinemont will travel to Cold Springs on Thursday for a makeup series beginning at 6:15 p.m.
Vinemont announced that only the Fireplug and Wee-Wee divisions will compete.
There will be no Pee-Wee game between Vinemont and Cold Springs.
The program’s announcement lists the 6:15 p.m. start for the makeup series but does not provide separate kickoff times or explicitly identify the division that will play first.
Vinemont’s announcement also includes an adjusted practice schedule, with all teams practicing from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and the Pee-Wee team practicing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Holly Pond at West Point
Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. series start
Holly Pond will travel to West Point on Tuesday, Sept. 29, for the final rescheduled Week 5 series.
West Point announced the makeup date and a 6 p.m. start. Its announcement lists Fireplug, Wee-Wee and Pee-Wee.
Separate kickoff times were not included in the announcement.
With the Vinemont-Cold Springs announcement, each of the four Week 5 series affected by the heat cancellation now has a makeup date.
