CULLMAN, Ala. – Several downtown streets and parking areas will temporarily close beginning Saturday, Sept. 26, as preparations get underway for Cullman Oktoberfest, scheduled for Oct. 1-4, according to the City of Cullman.
Depot Drive, between the Historic Train Depot and Depot Park, will close at 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and is scheduled to reopen at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The Cullman County Museum parking lot and the section of First Avenue Northeast between the museum and Festhalle will close at 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. Both are scheduled to reopen at 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.
Arnold Street Northeast will close at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, and is scheduled to reopen at 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.
First Avenue Northeast west of Clark Street, Clark Street Northeast and the warehouse parking lot will close at 11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. Those areas are scheduled to reopen at 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.
Second Avenue Northeast will remain open throughout Oktoberfest.
The city encouraged drivers to use caution downtown, allow additional travel time and follow posted signs and barricades during festival setup, activities and cleanup.
