CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman senior Henry Crocker finished 34th in a field of 250 runners with a time of 15:53.20 to lead local competitors at Saturday’s Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park in Huntsville.
Cullman fielded scoring teams in both championship divisions, Cullman Christian placed 11th in the middle school boys race and St. Bernard Prep’s Jesus Sanchez recorded a fourth-place finish at the Scottsboro Invitational.

Cullman boys
Crocker led Cullman to 23rd place among 28 scoring teams in the championship boys division. The Bearcats totaled 571 points, produced a five-runner average of 17:16 and had a 2:29 spread between their first and fifth scorers.
Junior Avin Dempsey finished 112th in 16:45.30, followed by junior Mason Gobble in 151st at 17:16.80. Senior Benjamin Stidham placed 202nd in 18:02.50 and junior Dawson Helton completed Cullman’s five-man scoring lineup in 214th at 18:23.00.
Freshmen Ripkin Oliver and Trajan Norrell finished almost together. Oliver placed 222nd in 18:40.10 and Norrell was 223rd in 18:40.40. Sophomore Thatcher Lucas followed in 225th at 18:44.30 and senior Sean Gilfoyle finished 238th in 19:44.40.
Three additional Bearcats competed in the 438-runner Blue boys division. Freshman Jacob Dunn placed 232nd in 19:23.88, junior Lincoln Medina finished 337th in 20:36.99 and junior Sawyer Eifert was 353rd in 20:54.15.
Cullman girls
Freshman Madeline Stidham led the Cullman girls with a 49th-place finish in the 160-runner championship field, completing the 5K course in 20:10.70.
Senior Addison Vogelaar followed in 75th at 21:02.51. Junior Khloe Nalley placed 129th in 22:29.94, sophomore Aubree Lawrence finished 134th in 22:43.58 and freshman Tinley Alldredge completed the Bearcats’ scoring five in 137th at 22:47.85.
Cullman finished 17th among 19 scoring teams with 418 points. The Bearcats posted a team average of 21:50 and a 2:37 spread between their first and fifth runners.
Senior Mabry Free finished 140th in 23:10.14, freshman Sophie Robinson placed 149th in 23:39.85 and senior Victoria Waldrop was 151st in 23:43.85.
Cullman Christian
Seventh-grader Chasen Hampton led Cullman Christian’s middle school boys team with a 14th-place finish among 185 runners. Hampton completed the 2-mile course in 12:22.54.
Seventh-grader Cutter Gibbs placed 86th in 14:23.72, seventh-grader Gavin Stidham finished 91st in 14:37.23, eighth-grader Caleb Randolph was 106th in 15:01.95 and seventh-grader Elijah Rutherford completed the Lions’ scoring lineup in 139th at 16:27.45.
Freshman Landon Jones finished 156th in 17:29.20 and freshman Colton Olinger placed 177th in 20:29.25.
Cullman Christian totaled 279 points to place 11th among 15 scoring teams. The Lions recorded a five-runner average of 14:34.
Three Cullman Christian runners competed in the 119-runner middle school girls race. Seventh-grader Meribelle Brock led the Lions in 52nd place with a time of 16:51.54. Seventh-graders Aubrie Claire Rigsby and Arden Brock placed 93rd and 99th, respectively, with times of 20:45.36 and 21:27.02.
The Lions did not record a girls team score because they had fewer than five finishers.
Senior Elisabeth DeCicco represented Cullman Christian in the Teal girls 5K and finished 68th among 214 runners with a time of 26:57.11.
Scottsboro Invitational
Sanchez led St. Bernard Prep at the Scottsboro Invitational in Scottsboro, placing fourth in the Class 1A-3A JV boys division with a time of 13:46.69 on the 2.1-mile course.
Stephen Bissot finished 20th in the division at 17:49.71 and Jacob Thurston placed 28th in 19:14.86.
Anamari Alonzo represented St. Bernard in the Class 1A-3A JV girls race and placed 13th with a time of 20:18.13.
In varsity competition, Kieran Gargan finished 89th in the boys 5K at 26:39.57. Yulissa Wang placed 60th in the girls 5K with a time of 46:19.25.
