HOLLY POND, Ala. – The Holly Pond Town Council on Monday, June 1, awarded a bid for cameras and discussed park updates.
At last month’s meeting, the council discussed the installation of approximately 45 new cameras around town hall, the senior center, event center, concession stand and library. On Monday, they reviewed two bids.
The first, from Cox, came in at approximately $20,000. The second bid, from Millennium IT Solutions, exceeded the budget for the project. The council voted to award the bid to Cox.
Councilman Dwight Kidd said Governors Park picnic tables have been acquired, but they’re waiting on better weather conditions before pouring the concrete pads in order to place them.
The council discussed future improvements for the softball fields. A bid is expected to go out soon for the field renovation once an overall design is decided.
In new business, the council is purchasing 30 wreaths for the Homemakers Club’s Wreaths Across America Day.
A quote for re-painting the concession stand roof and pavilions has not yet been received. This will be addressed at the next meeting.
In committee reports, Kidd reported Pops in the Park was a huge success. He praised the talented students from the middle and high school bands and choirs.
The next meeting of the Holly Pond Town Council will be on Monday, July 6, at 6 p.m. in the Guy Hunt Library conference room.
