BERLIN, Ala. – The Berlin Farmers Market will officially open for the season this Saturday, June 6. It will be open 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
The town is encouraging families to come out to enjoy the day. Neighboring the farmers market pavilion is a playground with swings and more. There will also be a bounce house on-site with free access.
Little ones can also take part in the “POP” (Power of Produce) Club, a rewards program that allows children to engage and learn about local farmers and their produce.
Each child under the age of 13 that tries fresh fruits or vegetables will receive $3 in “POP Bucks” to use at the market on produce (limited to fruits and vegetables).
The children will be provided with punch cards, with every fifth visit earning them $5 in POP Bucks.
Please note that Mt. Carmel Drive is still closed. The Town of Berlin suggests the following routes when making your way to the market:
- Route 1 – Travel through the Community Center drive to County Road 1615, turn left, then enter the market through the back entrance
- Route 2 – Access the market from County Road 747
