HOLLY POND, Ala. – The Holly Pond Broncos were back home to host Asbury for homecoming Thursday night, and they wrapped up a week of festivities with a dominant performance against the Rams. Holly Pond built a 35-0 lead in the first half and cruised through an abbreviated second half to pick up a 42-0 win.

A 2-yard touchdown run by Boston Gibbs gave the Broncos a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter. The next Holly Pond touchdown came through the air when Gibbs hit Asher Thrift for 30 yards and a score. Fox Westall punched in the two-point conversion to stretch the lead to 14-0 with five minutes remaining in the first quarter.

A 33-yard touchdown run by Westall made it a 21-0 game late in the first quarter and the Broncos added to their lead early in the second. Gibbs connected with Westall through the air for a 32-yard touchdown to stretch the lead to 27-0 and in the final seconds of the first half, Gibbs threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Cade Allbright and Westall tacked on the two-point conversion to give Holly Pond a commanding, 35-0 lead at halftime.

With the hot clock running and some younger players on the field in the second half, the Broncos found the end zone one more time when Brayden Ivey ran one in from 7 yards out to put the finishing touches on a 42-0 win for Holly Pond.

Holly Pond (4-3) will be back home next week for a region game against Fyffe.
