Lewis Dean Shelton, age 60, of Hanceville, Alabama passed away on July 8, 2025. He was born in Alabama on January 30, 1965.
Lewis is preceded in death by his parents Willard O’neail and Eunice Welch Shelton. He is survived by his daughter Brandi Lynn Shelton, brother Lyndon (Jackie) Shelton, sister Cheryl (John) Dyar and two grandkids Marilynn and Amelia.
Lewis Dean Shelton was many things. A son, a father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Those who knew him loved him deeply. They loved his charm, wit, gentleness and ease. He was recognized by his wild curly hair, deep soothing voice, brown eyes and infectious smile. He was born and raised on Shelton Grove Mountain and spent most of his life there. He will always be a part of our Mountain. Though times change, and some we love are no longer with us, in a way they are always there. Strumming their instruments, telling their stories and holding fast to what we hold dear. Lewis Dean Shelton will remain forever in those mountains and we will continue to tell the next generation how wonderful he was. How much we loved him.
