CULLMAN, Ala. – The Alabama High School Athletic Association has officially released the pairings for the first round of the 2026 Regional Tournaments. Hanceville and Meek both won their respective areas to head into state playoffs hot, while Good Hope and Addison will look to bounce back from area championship losses.
ADDISON – Despite falling in the Class 1A, Area 14 Tournament twice to rival Meek, the 1-21 Lady Bulldogs qualified for regionals and will travel to Albertville. In their first round matchup they’ll meet Appalachian High out of Oneonta, who finished the season 23-8-1 and are coming off three straight wins where they put up 10+ points. The game will take place at Albertville’s Sand Mountain Park on Tuesday the 12th at 9 a.m.
MEEK – On the other end of the 1A, Area 14 Tournament, the 23-9 Tigers are surging into Regionals. At Sand Mountain Park, Meek will face 13-19 Ragland, who are 2-3 in their last five. The Devils have put up three ten plus-point performances in that stretch, reaching 20 runs in two of them, setting up an intriguing matchup with a stout Tigers defense led by pitcher Sadi Farley. The game will be Tuesday at 10:45 a.m.
HANCEVILLE – After taking down Locust Fork to earn their first ever area title, head coach Kim Lewis and the Hanceville Lady Bulldogs are heading to Albertville. Battling them will be the Weaver Bearcats, who fell in their area championship game and currently sit at 15-17. The Bulldogs and their balanced attack of offense/defense should make for an entertaining matchup with Weaver, who’ve also shown flashes on both sides. The game will be played at Sand Mountain Park on Wednesday, with the specific time time TBD.
GOOD HOPE – Molly Benefield and the Lady Raiders fell to West Morgan in their area tournament championship, but Good Hope will take a 15-16 squad north to Florence’s Coffee O’Neal Park. In round one of regionals, they’ll face the 30-14-1 area champion Curry Yellow Jackets. A hot Curry offense should push Good Hope, but the Raiders’ defense has shown the ability to shut teams down completely this season. The Raiders’ round one game will take place on Monday the 11th at 9 a.m.
