Suzanne Portwood Adams, 63, passed away August 31, 2026. Suzanne was loved by all who knew her and her love for everyone never wavered. She always made time for everyone, especially her 4 legged babies.. 8 of them. Suzanne was a veteran of the Air Force after serving 7 years, worked at GE for 13 years and Longhorn 10 years. She had a beautiful presence and enjoyed her life to the fullest.
Suzanne is survived by her husband of almost 23 years, Matthew Pearsall, her brother Eddie Portwood and her sister Kelly Jo Portwood Moore (all Decatur). Nieces Beth Guasque (Kevin) (Muscle Shoals) & Jennifer Chevallier (Niel) (Monroe, LA), her nephews Ryan Whisenant, Austin Whisenant (both of Decatur) & Chris Marthaller (Lonview, WA). Great nieces Katlyn Jo Whisenant & Abbigal Whisenant (both Decatur) & Allie Guasque (Muscle Shoals) & great nephews Ashton Whisenant & Sammy Whisenant (both Decatur), Lewis Chevallier & Isaac Chevallier (Monroe, LA).
There will be a celebration of life for Suzanne to be announced on Facebook. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local no kill animal shelter/humane society to be used for spade & neutering. God bless you all who had the chance to know her. You are all in our prayers.
