CULLMAN, Ala. – East Cullman Baptist Church honored local emergency personnel Sunday, Aug. 30, during its annual First Responder Appreciation Service and Luncheon.
Representatives from emergency-response agencies across Cullman County attended the event, including the Cullman Police Department, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Cullman County District Attorney’s Office, Cullman County Emergency Management Agency, Cullman City Communications, local fire departments and emergency medical services.
The annual event gives the church an opportunity to recognize the law enforcement officers, firefighters, dispatchers, emergency medical personnel and other public-safety professionals who serve the community.
The Cullman Police Department thanked Pastor Matt Smith and the East Cullman Baptist Church congregation for continuing the tradition and providing the meal.
“The Cullman Police Department is incredibly appreciative of Pastor Matt Smith and the entire East Cullman Baptist Church family for continuing this annual tradition and for their kindness, generosity and unwavering support of our community’s first responders,” the department said.
The CPD also thanked the church for taking time to recognize those who serve, saying the congregation’s support “means more than you know.”
