Each generation brings new insight and creativity. It is essential to acknowledge and appreciate the significant contributions that young people are making to our communities. By listening to their stories and watching them work and create, we not only gain a deeper understanding of their challenges, but also see the hope they carry into the future, as well as witness how they are already changing our world through artwork, storytelling and much more.

Cullman High School 2025 graduate Eliana Hollis uses art to reflect her inner world and connect with others. Her work explores the intersection of creativity and mental health, offering both understanding and joy to those who view it.

“Art is important in my life as an outlet for my perceptions, views and emotions. The theme of my AP Art portfolio in my junior year was the integration of my mental health into my art, something I am extremely passionate about. I want people to feel seen through my art, to be able to relate to and see a bit of themselves in it,” said Hollis. “Art is so important to our perception of the world and how we process our emotions, which is something I hope to exemplify through my life and my own creations. I also strive to bring joy to others through my drawings, which is why another one of my goals is to author and illustrate a children’s book.”
