HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Shirley Burden Public Library in Hanceville hosted an Animal Tracks event recently as part of its Summer Reading Program.

Library Manager Teresa Rivera said they will have many meaningful summer programs that are free to the public.

“My favorite thing about Animal Tracks is the children really enjoyed making the tracks of deer, fox and other animals,” Rivera said. “We enjoyed them having fun while doing so. Children are the spice of life. Always laughing, hugging each other, making new friendships during the summer. It is such a joy to observe and be a part of. This is my sixth summer program, and it gets better every year.”

Next up on Wednesday, June 3, at 10 a.m. is the live snake program. Experts will present an engaging, hands-on show that brings the world of reptiles and exotic animals to the library.

“We will have live reptiles,” Rivera said. “The snake show company comes highly recommended from one of our board members. They travel to schools and other libraries in the state.”

The library is open Tuesday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (closed from noon-1 p.m.) and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Join us on Facebook for weekly details or please feel free to call us at 256-352-0685. Follow Facebook/Hanceville Public Library for event details.
