Lionel Bennefield, of Joppa, had been improving in a Birmingham hospital. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Desser Bennefield could not be reached on Friday night, when his condition worsened. The undertaker delivered his body to the Joppa home and it was the first news the family had of his death. Funeral services were held at one o’clock on Sunday afternoon at New Home Church.

John T. Cargo, age 41, died at his Hanceville residence, on Tuesday, from shotgun wounds.

The Johnson chicken house and 6,000 chickens were destroyed by fire at Fairview on November 24.

Joe O. Shelton, age 53, died early Sunday morning, when his home was destroyed by fire. Mr. Shelton operated the Spot Café. Mr. Shelton awoke his wife, Ruth about one a.m., when he discovered the fire. She jumped out the bedroom window, but he was apparently too burned to jump. Pallbearers were Henry Howle, Theo Burrow, L.L. McClendon, C.H. King, Al Gasser and Loring Trimble.

Mrs. Cal Leeth, age 36, died on Saturday. She was the former Wynelle Taylor. Services were at First Baptist. Pallbearers were Edgar Ziegler, Ralph Jenkins, Bill Norton, G.F. Anderson, Ben Le Duke and Oscar Dunlap.

The Felix Foust family had a Thanksgiving reunion, on November 23, at Walter.

Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Warren and Mr. and Mrs. G.S. Combs, Carol and Tommy, were the Thanksgiving Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Ashwander, in Birmingham.

Mr. and Mrs. Berton Sinyard are the proud grandparents of a grandson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Calvert.

Doris Thrift, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Grubbs was crowned queen of the White City Junior High Harvest Carnival. Bobby McCormick was crowned king. Bobby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCormick.

Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Hancock were the Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lester McSwain at Brushy Pond.

Officers of the Trimble Girls 4-H Club are Sue Neal-President, Gayree Speegle- Vice-President, Daphna Calvert- Secretary, Saleta Jordan-Reporter, Song Leaders are Myra Gutherie and Myra Ann Speegle.

The J.L. Denny potato house and 800 bushels of corn were burned, on Monday.
