West Point’s Walker Johnson earns $4K scholarship at Alabama Farmers Federation 2021 Junior Beef Expo

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE) proudly reported that West Point student and CCBOE Fast Track participant Walker Johnson earned a $4,000 scholarship for exhibiting the reserve grand champion animal during the Alabama Farmers Federation/Alfa Insurance 2021 Junior Beef Expo Market Show. Other area students brought home honors as well, including Cullman County students Rex Harrison and Cole Eubanks, and Bryn Lake of Winston County. 

The Alabama Farmers Federation posted to social media: 
“Walker Johnson of Cullman in Cullman County exhibited the reserve grand champion animal during the Market Show at the Jr. Beef Expo. As reserve grand champion, he received a $4,000 scholarship sponsored by the SLE Rodeo. He also exhibited the Crossbred reserve champion. The contest was held March 19 at the Teague Arena in Montgomery. The Alabama Farmers Federation coordinates the show, which is presented by Alfa Insurance. ”

Bryn Lake of Arley in Winston County exhibited the 5th overall animal during the Market Show at the Jr. Beef Expo. As 5th overall, he received a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by U.S. Foods. He also exhibited the champion Charolais. The contest was held March 19 at the Teague Arena in Montgomery. The Alabama Farmers Federation coordinates the show, which is presented by Alfa Insurance.
