I’m a combat veteran but I’ve got a job, two kids in sports and I’m busy, or, I’m retired with grandkids and church and keeping up my place, I’m BUSY!!! I just don’t have time to join, and besides, what’s in it for me?

According to the VA reps at the Cullman County Courthouse, we have over 7,000 veterans living in our county, but, because of the Privacy Act, organizations like the VFW and American Legion cannot be given their names or contact info. So, we are left to trying to spot a bumper sticker on your car or a cap on your head and then ask you to join. But, back to the question at hand, why join?

Reason #1. We need your membership to add to our strength to lobby Congress to hold the VA accountable for better care and to keep our benefits coming.

Reason #2. There is no other place in Cullman County where you can hang with guys and gals who have also experienced what you have been through/Band of Brothers!!!

Reason #3. This is your chance to help your fellow vets with moral support, physical support and in so many other ways.

Reason #4. You can help us promote patriotism in our schools and community and help educate the 99 percent who haven’t served on what being a vet is all about.

It costs $30 a year and you can put in as little or as much time as you wish. We would be proud if you would drop by the post at 112 Veterans Drive ($5 hot lunch at 11:30 each Tuesday) and check us out or call us at 256-739-6611.

C’mon guys and gals, we need you and now you have been personally asked.

VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS (VFW). NO ONE DOES MORE FOR VETERANS!
