TRIMBLE – A head-on collision Tuesday night near the 8000 block of County Road 813, close to the entrance of Smith Lake Park, has left a mother and daughter dead. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick early Wednesday morning confirmed the two fatalities. Tonya Busbee, 34, of Bremen and her daughter, Rhianna Busbee, 13, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Busbees were traveling south in a Ford Ranger pickup truck, when the driver of a northbound vehicle, a 2016 Chevrolet Impala, allegedly crossed the center line and struck them head on.

The driver of the the Impala was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

More details, including the identity and condition of the other driver, will be made available when the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), who is conducting the official investigation, releases an official report.

This is a developing story.
