Crane Hill Communities Volunteer Fire and EMS Department 40th Birthday Celebration

Stop by Crane Hill Fire Station #1 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday May 7 to help us celebrate. We are celebrating our 40th Birthday! We are also honoring three of our members who were there in the beginning and still serve our communities today. So stop by and say “Hi.”

 

Better Business Bureau Shred Day

May 7, 9 a.m.-noon at King Edward Plaza Shopping Center, Second Avenue Southwest.

Drive up and drop off your sensitive documents, old electronics and prescription drugs to be securely disposed of on-site for free! Documents will be shredded, and electronics will be wiped clean of your personal information before being recycled. Limit of three bags or boxes per person, and no cardboard or three-ring binders will be accepted.

 

Annual Ladies Tea

The Friends of the Lawrence County Public Library will host their annual Ladies Tea at the Joe Wheeler Home on May 7, from 2-4 p.m. The menu will include fresh baked scones, fresh fruit, savories, sweets and sorbet. Three organic teas from Light of Day will feature a light, a dark and a fruity tea. Music will be provided by the Zills Family, Rod Wallace and Larry Smith. The speaker will be Judge Angela Terry. Rummage Sale

Trinity Lutheran Church, 505 Commercial Street, Hanceville, will have a rummage sale on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7, beginning at 8 a.m. Proceeds benefit the youth group, who will be attending the 2016 National LCMS Youth Gathering and Missions in New Orleans.

 

Fairview High School Band Community Yard Sale

May 7 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fairview Town Park. Multi-family donations. Something for everyone! All proceeds go toward purchasing new band uniforms. Booth spaces are $10. Fr. Zachary of the Mother of God May 7 Retreat

We would love to invite all of you to join the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Retreat on Saturday, May 7. Fr. Zachary, SOLT, will be giving two conferences, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  There will be a Noon Day Mass along with confessions at 3 p.m.  Please bring your own lunch.

 

Ground Zero Men’s Conference- Center for Rapid, Intense Change

Saturday, May 7, 8:30 a.m.-noon at WSCC School of Nursing Building. This conference will empower males, ages 10 and up, to be the men God has created them to be in an effort to help them understand the importance of their leadership role and involvement in the home, the family and the community. The event will provide tools to guide them as they walk through the struggles of daily life and give them a support group to move forward as they strengthen our community. 2016 Strawberry Festival

May 6-7, 2016, at Depot Park, a host of local farmers will offer strawberries to purchase both days of the event. Strawberry-themed foods, ice cream, drinks and more will also be a part of the festival. Huge lineup of music, free kids’ games and rides, dozens of craft vendors and a car show. Food trucks will also be on-site both days. The festival will run from 4-10 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday. Cullman County Saddle Club Horse Show

Cullman Farmers Market – Festhalle

Hanceville Farmer's Market

The Hanceville Farmer's Market has locally-grown fruits, vegetables and meats, as well as arts and crafts. They are open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Located at 200 Bangor Ave.

Saving Forgotten Warriors

AA Meeting

The Cullman Downtown Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 1519 St. Joseph St. NW. Every day at noon will be an open discussion meeting, Sunday at 7 p.m. is an open discussion and speaker meeting, Tuesday at 7 p.m. is an open discussion meeting (with meal at 6:30 p.m.), Wednesday at 7 p.m.; Thursday at 10:30 a.m. is women's big book study; and Friday at 7 p.m. is a closed discussion meeting (no card signed).
