Hanceville City Clerk Tania Wilcox Earns Designation as an Alabama Certified Payroll Specialist

AUBURN – The Alabama Public Personnel Administrators Association (AAPPA) and the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University are delighted to announce that Tania Wilcox, City Clerk for the City of Hanceville, has met all the requirements to be designated an Alabama Certified Payroll Specialist. Ms.Wilcox joins a select group of 56 Alabama payroll administrators throughout the State with this distinction.

Mr. Donald Dees, President of the Alabama Public Personnel Association, said, "Municipal leaders are to be commended for supporting Ms. Wilcox's efforts to complete this structured and tested professional development program. They recognize that all of the citizens of the City of Hanceville benefit from quality services provided by highly motivated and well trained municipal employees like Tania Wilcox."

Graduates of the program must complete four courses of detailed practical and applied tested course work involving all aspects of payroll administration.

According to Dr. Don-Terry Veal, Director of the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University and administrator of the program, "Ms. Wilcox's achievement underscores a strong commitment and dedication to public service in our State and the commitment of the City of Hanceville to the betterment and improvement of local government in Alabama."

The Certificate will be presented to Ms. Wilcox on October 22, 2015, at a special ceremony held during the annual conference of the Association in Guntersville, Alabama.
