Funeral Service for John Paul Hanvey, age 83 of Eva, will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Saylor officiating; burial at Daniel’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Hanvey passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center – Princeton. He was born August 8, 1942, to Coston Hanvey and Tressie Ryder Hanvey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ruth Willingham & brother Ronnie Sam Hanvey.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Hanvey; son, Kelly (Kerry) Hanvey; daughter, Trena (Mike) Guthrie; grandchildren, Tara (TJ) Hamm, Josh (Maggi) Sellers, Brandon Guthrie & Keleigh Woods; great grandchildren, Ashlin, Ella, Rivers & Evelyn; brother, Charles Hanvey; sister, Barbara (Buddy) Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, Paw Paw & Papa John. He loved his family & community. He loved kids and enjoyed watching his son race & would give his shirt off of his back for you. He also shared a special bond with his granddog, Kol, a faithful Great Pyrenees, who brought him much comfort and companionship. He will be missed by all that knew him.
