CULLMAN, Ala. – A planned 150-residence development near Cullman Regional has moved into the environmental permitting process following preliminary subdivision approval earlier this summer.
The Alabama Department of Environmental Management currently lists DDB Capital Fund LLC’s Brock Trace Subdivision among construction-stormwater permit applications received in Cullman County.
The filing identifies the project on County Road 1464.
Brock Trace is planned on approximately 52 acres near County Roads 1464 and 1466.
Developer DDB Capital’s current project information calls for approximately 120 single-family homes and 30 townhomes.
The City of Cullman Planning Commission approved the project’s preliminary subdivision July 7 following earlier zoning and development reviews.
The city’s preliminary subdivision process included consideration of utilities, drainage, green space and other infrastructure requirements.
Plans previously presented to the City included approximately 6 acres of green space and additional walking trails.
DDB has separately described plans for recreational areas including a pool and pickleball courts, although final amenities and construction phasing remain subject to the project’s approved plans and development process.
The developer previously projected construction beginning before the end of 2026.
The appearance of Brock Trace on ADEM’s construction-stormwater application list represents another regulatory step toward site development, but it does not by itself establish that the permit has been issued or that land-disturbance work has begun.
The project’s current website continues to advertise future home reservations and project updates. A current construction start date and homebuilder have not been independently confirmed.
The development is one of several residential projects moving through Cullman’s planning process as the City of Cullman continues to address growth, housing and the infrastructure required to serve new development.
