It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Moore, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left this world on March 21, 2026, in Cullman, Alabama. Born on January 13, 1956, in Jasper, Alabama, Thomas lived a life defined by love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.

Thomas dedicated many years of his life working as a coal miner, a career marked by hard work and perseverance. After retiring, he remained a pillar of strength and support for those around him. Known for his remarkable skills in mechanics and construction, Thomas was often called upon by family and friends as the trusted “go-to” mechanic. His hands built not only vehicles but also the very home in which his family found comfort and security.

A truly loving husband, Thomas was married to Wanda Moore for 52 years. Their union was blessed with a close-knit family enriched by their children: Carlos Canales (Vicki), Tommy Joe Moore, Rusty Clay Moore (Latosha), Rebecca Elaine Hitt (Donnie), and Tabitha Hester (Todd). Thomas’s legacy extends through a cherished lineage of 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom he lovingly guided and taught how to be great men and women.

Thomas was a man open to helping anyone in need, always generous with his time and wisdom. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was respected not only for his intelligence and craftsmanship but also for his genuine care and devotion to those he loved.

He is survived by his devoted wife Wanda; his children and their spouses; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his brothers Larry Moore and Roger Moore. They, along with a wider circle of family and friends, will carry forward the memory of a remarkable man whose spirit will forever remain in their hearts.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gertrude Moore, and his brothers Darrell Moore, Jessie Moore, and Woody Moore. Their memories are cherished alongside his, as part of the rich tapestry of his life.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on March 24, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home, located at 100 Michelle Street, NW, Hanceville, Alabama. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Thomas’s life will take place the following day, March 25, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. at the same location.

Thomas Edward Moore’s life was a testament to strength, love, and integrity. As we say goodbye, we hold close his enduring spirit and the many ways he touched our lives. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the love he gave so freely and the lessons he imparted to generations. May he rest in peace.
