LOGAN, Ala. – Harmony School is preparing to host its annual Southern Beauty pageant, a tradition that has supported the school since 2007.
Pageant organizer Heather Lynn said the event began the same year the school opened and serves as a fundraiser benefiting Harmony School’s general fund.
“We began Harmony’s Southern Beauty in 2007, which was the school’s first year open. This year will mark the 20th annual pageant.”
The pageant, set for Saturday, April 18, is open to the public and welcomes contestants from birth to age 18. Registration for contestants ages birth to 6 begins at noon, while contestants ages 7-18 will register at 2 p.m.
Participants will compete for overall winner and three alternates, as well as awards for Best Dressed, Most Beautiful and Photogenic.
Lynn said the variety of categories helps create a positive and encouraging environment for participants.
“These categories allow girls to shine in different ways,” she said. “It becomes more about celebration and encouragement rather than just a single win.”
Proceeds from the pageant will help cover school expenses and directly support students.
Lynn said the event is designed to be welcoming for both beginners and experienced contestants.
“It’s not just about competition,” she said. “It’s about building confidence, making memories and celebrating each child’s unique personality and beauty.”
