CULLMAN, Ala. – Mayor Woody Jacobs has officially proclaimed Jan. 25–31, 2026 Lutheran Schools Appreciation Week in the city of Cullman, recognizing the long-standing educational and spiritual impact of St. Paul’s Lutheran School on the community.

St. Paul’s Lutheran School has served Cullman continuously since 1954, providing a classical Lutheran education that cultivates both academic excellence and spiritual growth. Rooted in Holy Scripture and the traditions of the Lutheran Church, the school is dedicated to forming students in what is good, true and beautiful while equipping them for lives of character, service and leadership.

“I am proud to recognize St. Paul’s Lutheran School for its decades of faithful service to our community,” said Jacobs. “This school has helped shape generations of students, including my own family. My son attended St. Paul’s as a child, and I have seen firsthand the strong academic foundation and values-based education the school provides. Its influence reaches far beyond the classroom and continues to make Cullman a stronger community.”

The proclamation was presented during a ceremony attended by St. Paul’s Lutheran School Headmaster Pastor William Parsons; teachers Mrs. Bussman, Mr. Johnathan Moody and Deaconess Kate Phillips; and students from the fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

Jacobs encouraged residents to join in recognizing and celebrating St. Paul’s Lutheran School for its history, continued success and lasting impact on the lives of students and families throughout Cullman.
