CULLMAN, Ala. – The Alabama Conservation District Employees Association is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program, offering six $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors across the state who plan to enter college in the summer or fall of 2026.
One scholarship will be awarded in each of ACDEA’s six designated areas. Cullman County is part of a 12‑county area from which one outstanding student will be selected. Scholarships may be used at any accredited college of the student’s choice.
The program is designed to recognize students who demonstrate leadership, involvement in school or community activities and a commitment to conservation, agriculture or environmental stewardship. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Alabama residents and current high school seniors. Financial need will also be considered.
“Supporting the next generation of leaders — especially those who value conservation and responsible land stewardship — is central to our mission,” said Kathy Holmes, district administrative coordinator for the Cullman County Conservation District. “We encourage all eligible seniors to apply.”
Application requirements
- Completed ACDEA scholarship application
- A photo (school photo or ID copy accepted)
- Two recommendation forms (one suggested from a teacher)
- Counselor‑verified GPA and ACT score
Students are encouraged to highlight academic honors, extracurricular involvement, volunteer work and any agriculture or conservation‑related activities such as 4‑H, FFA, livestock shows or community environmental events.

All completed applications must be received by Thursday, March 12, 2026.
