Mrs. Vansant was born May 23, 1936, in Cullman County, Alabama to the late Isaac & Lena Goeller Boyd. She passed away December 5, 2025, in Cullman County, Alabama.
Glenda was a woman of faith, strength, and generosity, qualities she shared freely with everyone she encountered. Throughout her life, Glenda played significant roles in several local churches, including Hopewell Baptist Church of Hanceville, First Baptist Church of Hanceville, and Bethlehem East Baptist Church of Hanceville. Her service in each congregation reflected her deep commitment to ministry, fellowship, and helping others grow in their faith. Glenda was also heavily involved in the life of Saint Paul’s Lutheran School, where she served both as a member and as president of the PTA. Her dedication to children’s education and wellbeing extended further into the community through her leadership and support of the Cub Scouts.
She and her husband, Bobby, shared a lifelong commitment to charitable giving, quietly and generously supporting countless needs throughout Hanceville. Glenda was an excellent seamstress who created countless garments by hand. Beautiful clothes for herself, her family, and many in the community. Her talent was matched only by her willingness to share it, stitching love, care, and attention into every piece she made. Glenda will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her creativity, her leadership, and the many lives she shaped through kindness, faith, and generosity.
