GOOD HOPE
GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The City of Good Hope on Monday, Nov. 3, swore in council members and the mayor for their new terms. Cullman County Circuit Court Judge Gregory Nicholas administered the oaths of office.
Mayor Jerry Bartlett took the oath for another term, along with councilmembers Bill Brown (Place 1), Eric Phillips (Place 2), Susan Eller (Place 3), Greg Brown (Place 4) and Taft Dillashaw (Place 5).
Following the swearing-in, the council approved several resolutions, including the appointment of Dillashaw as mayor pro tempore and the adoption of new banking and administrative resolutions. Christie Chamblee was appointed city clerk and treasurer, Rita Nicholas city attorney and Chuck Chitwood of Canyon Engineering city engineer. Nicholas also administered oaths of office to Dillashaw, Chamblee and Nicholas in their respective roles.
The council additionally introduced ordinances to establish rules of order and procedure for the new term and to recognize the annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday before adjourning the meeting.
GARDEN CITY
GARDEN CITY, Ala. – The Town of Garden City also held its swearing-in ceremony Monday night at Garden City Town Hall, reaffirming the Town’s leadership for the upcoming term.
Mayor Tim Eskew was sworn in for another term, along with Councilman Place 1 Butch Bradford, Councilman Place 2 Jonathan Sharp, Councilman Place 3 Michael Black, Councilman Place 4 Scott Arnold and Councilman Place 5 Barrett Hardin.
Other officials who were reappointed during the meeting included Clerk/Treasurer Amy Black, Town Attorney Heath Meherg, Fire Chief Zach Thomas and Maintenance Manager Mitch Black.
DODGE CITY
DODGE CITY, Ala. – The Town of Dodge City Council also held its organizational meeting Monday evening, during which all current officials were reaffirmed to their positions for the upcoming term.
Mayor Jason Burney was sworn in for another term, along with all five members of the town council: Place 1 Teeara Johns, Place 2 Heather Langley, Place 3 and Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Lynn, Place 4 Chayton Grimmett and Place 5 Robert South.
No changes were made to the council lineup during the meeting.
