CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Commission on Aging will host a loaded barbecue potato fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Cullman County Courthouse’s south parking lot.
COA Director Stephanie Lawson said this year the COA is dreaming big because, for the first time ever, it is launching Santa for Seniors, a heartfelt initiative to provide individualized Christmas gifts to the homebound seniors it serves.
“These are not just any gifts; these are items they truly need or that bring back sweet holiday memories,” Lawson said. “This is just the beginning. Our goal is to grow Santa for Seniors into a program that reaches even more seniors in years to come. Please help us make this year unforgettable.”
Lawson encourages everyone to participate in the delicious evening and help support homebound seniors in the community.
“For just $15 per plate, enjoy a loaded barbecue potato, a drink and dessert,” she said. “This is a drive-through style and grab a plate event. We are accepting cash and check only. A huge thank you to The Butcher – Meat Co. for their generous support. Come hungry. Leave happy and make a difference.”
The address of the event is 500 Second Ave. SW in Cullman. Presale tickets are available at the Commission on Aging office, located at 1519 Sportsman Lake Road NW in Cullman.
