CULLMAN, Ala. – A new plant nursery has officially opened in Cullman. The Plantique opened on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the former Mustard Seed Nursery location.
Nevada Frye and her family own The Plantique. Their business may be new to Cullman, but it’s anything but new to the industry. Frye and her family already operate two garden centers in Jasper, and the passion for plants runs deep.
The Plantique offers a wide range of plants and gardening supplies, including seasonal annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, herbs and vegetables. For fall, customers can also expect porch décor favorites like stacking pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks, with festive Christmas items to follow.
“We grow most of what we sell,” Frye said. “And of course, we’ll also have houseplants, succulents and cacti.”
However, what truly sets The Plantique apart is its emphasis on a personalized customer experience.
“I really like to offer that mom-and-pop feel,” explained Frye. “If you need help loading your car, have questions about a plant or just know you want something for a certain spot, we’ll walk through it with you.”
Whether you’re a professional landscaper, a weekend gardener or someone who’s never owned a plant, Frye and her team are ready to help. For those who were loyal customers of The Mustard Seed, Frye assured many familiar favorites will still be available.
“We’re going to continue what was here, but we’ll also bring in new and exciting things as they come out,” she said. “And if there’s something specific someone wants, I’ll do everything I can to get it.”
To those just starting with gardening, Frye offered this advice: “Don’t be afraid. Ask questions. Anybody can keep a plant alive. If I can do it, you can, too.”
The Plantique is located at 324 County Road 222. Find it online at Facebook/The Plantique Cullman.
