Vinemont Town Council talks holiday events

VINEMONT, Ala. – The Vinemont Town Council at its November meeting, discussed community holiday events, including the annual Community Thanksgiving Meal, Christmas Tree Lighting, Tinsel Trail and Christmas in the Park. 

The free Community Thanksgiving Meal will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Vinemont High School lunchroom. The traditional feast will feature turkey and ham, sweet potato casserole, green beans, rolls, desserts and drinks. Guests will have the option to eat in the lunchroom or take their plates to go.  

Christmas in the Park will be Saturday, Dec. 9, from 4-6 p.m. at the Vinemont Community Center. This free community event kicks off the town’s Tinsel Trail and culminates in the grand Tree Lighting Ceremony.  

In other business, the council unanimously approved the surplus of a 2006 Columbia golf cart.  

The next Vinemont Town Council meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 12, with the work session beginning at 5 p.m. and the meeting immediately following.
