Joshua Lee Goodin, age 40, of Alabama, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 15, 2026, after a brief illness. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Josh was born on January 5, 1986. He graduated from Hanceville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard. A devoted father, loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend, Josh’s greatest blessing in life was his three boys. He loved them beyond measure and treasured every opportunity to be a part of their lives.
Josh was known for his love of baseball, both as a fan and a coach. He found great joy in mentoring young athletes and encouraging them both on and off the field. He was also a passionate Auburn fan who could always be counted on to cheer for the Tigers. Whether spending time with family, enjoying sports, or helping others, Josh lived with a generous heart and a genuine love for people.
Most importantly, Josh had professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. While his family grieves his passing, they find peace and comfort in the assurance that he is now healed, whole, and rejoicing in the presence of his Savior.
Josh leaves behind to cherish his memory his three beloved sons, Dixon Lee Goodin, James Harris Goodin, and Luke Phillip Goodin; his father, Randy Goodin (Pat Ivy); his mother, Lisa Roberts; his sister, Ashlyn Miller (Adam Kelly); his nephew, Jayden Miller; his grandmother, Louise Evans; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and love.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the legacy of his love, faith, and devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Chelsea, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor his memory to make a contribution to a memorial fund established for his three beloved sons. Your generosity will help provide for the boys’ future and remind them that they are surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them. Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated.
