CULLMAN, Ala. – It’s not just student-athletes who are recognized for committing to college sports. Cullman High School recently held a signing day to celebrate students who have chosen to embark on meaningful careers in technical industries, enroll in training programs or serve our country through military enlistment.
“Their decisions are vital to the strength and future of our community and workforce,” Career and Technical Education Director Lindsay Brannon said. “Many of these students are pursuing Career Technical Education pathways aligned to high-demand fields. Several are entering the workforce directly in industry trades such as welding, HVACR and commercial construction. Others are continuing their training through postsecondary technical programs in areas such as health science and information technology. We also recognized students who are beginning the path toward careers in education as future teachers.”
Brannon noted that taking the time to celebrate these students heading into career tech fields is a tribute to the expansive career tech programs offered at CHS, ranging from engineering, computer science, marketing, education, nutrition and more.
“Cullman High School’s CTE Signing Day is valuable because they honor seniors pursuing skilled trades and technical training,” she added. “Highlighting these moments shows that multiple postsecondary pathways are meaningful and worthy of recognition while reinforcing preparation for real-world careers. It also gives students a sense of pride and helps families better understand the many opportunities available after graduation.”
