Catherine Williams Doyle, age 94, of Cullman, Alabama, appropriately entered Heaven on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2025.

She was born in Phenix City, Alabama on March 13, 1931, and lived in Alabama, England, Illinois, and Florida during her lifetime. She met the love of her life, Jim, at Auburn University, and received her B.S. in Home Economics from Auburn University in 1952 (The Alabama Polytechnic Institute). She taught primary education, worked in various sales positions, and was a devoted wife for over 50 years and beloved mother for over 70 years. She was also a loving dog mom to Maxine, Pepper, John, DJ, and most recently, Roxie. Her love of Elvis Presley music was surpassed only by her loyalty to Auburn University.

Since retirement, she enjoyed many years of travel all over the world and was very fortunate to have traveled numerous times with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Although a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Phenix City for many years, she started attending Temple Baptist Church, Cullman, in 2022, and was proud to publicly proclaim her faith at age 93 in Believer’s Baptism on June 27, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Wakefield Williams and Frank Wiliford Williams, Sr., her brother and his wife, Frank and Margaret Williams, her husband of 50 years, James Norman Doyle, and life-long family friends, Joe and Nell Hennessy. Survivors include her son and his wife, Francis James Doyle II (Jimmy) and Dorenda Doyle, and her daughter, Kaylyn Anne Colafrancesco, all of Cullman; eight grandchildren—Trey Doyle (Heather), Derrick Taff (Patricia), Lindsey James (Nathan), Tony Colafrancesco (Laura), Katrina Colafrancesco, Steven (Bo) Colafrancesco, Nick Colafrancesco, and Michael Colafrancesco; nineteen great-grandchildren—Maddie, Tyson, Bentlie, Libby, Appleton, Letty, Loxley, Christian, Michael, Giovanni, Araya, Gaia, Anthony, Jolee, Kiera, Beth, Rebecca, Abby, and Gabriel; and three great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Moss Funeral Home in Cullman, Alabama, with services following at 4 p.m., officiated by Bro. Jaylynn Milligan of Temple Baptist Church. Grandchildren, Trey Doyle, Derrick Taff, Anthony Colafrancesco, Nathan James, Michael Colafrancesco, and Tyson James will be honorary pallbearers. Interment will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, Florida, at 3:30 p.m.
