Gene enjoyed talking and fellowshipping with anyone and everyone that would talk to him. He loved being around family and hanging around all the family. He absolutely loved to hunt deer, whether it was sitting in a deer stand or chasing dogs with Leroy and the Mississippi gang. He loved watching all the sports activities, whether it was his family or not, but he loved watching them all. He loved his time on the Cullman County School Board. He was a board member for 12 years. He made sure he did everything he could to help not only the schools, but the children and the families. Last, but not least, he loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He loved all of his church family and, most importantly, he wanted to make sure everyone knew Jesus Christ.
