Clema Jean Rusk age 91 of Hanceville, Alabama went to her heavenly home on Saturday May 10, 2025.
Jean was known for many things, but her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was among the most evident. There was no doubt that she was musically gifted, playing both the twelve-string guitar and piano-even creating a few of her own songs. Her love for southern gospel music was noteworthy, and it was not uncommon to find her singing or dancing. Jean was especially creative with her hands, as she spent lots of time crocheting and quilting. She could often be spotted wearing some of her own hand-made apparel. She loved gardening, and was partial to fruit trees in particular; raising an impressive eleven pear trees! She was an incredible cook and was especially known for her famous fried apple pies, a favorite among family and friends. A woman of many talents and hobbies, Jean was a motivated and kind-hearted servant of the Lord and will be dearly missed.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents M. H. Sr. and Audrey Jones, husband Hubert Rusk, sons Paul and Robbie Taylor, sisters Roberta Beard, Nelma George and Montez Moore, and brothers Carlton, Norman, and John Henry Jones. She is survived by her sons Ronald and Daniel Rusk, daughter Patricia Ann Taylor, sister Wanda Ellison, brother M. H. Jones Jr, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday May 15, 2025, beginning at 12 p.m. until the service time at 2 p.m. in the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel, 1901 2nd Ave NW, Cullman, AL 35055. Jean will be laid to rest at Emeus Baptist Cemetery 2246 CR-831, Logan, AL 35098.
