A Flood Watch is in effect for far southeastern Alabama until 1 pm Monday.

For areas in far southeastern Alabama, where both the Flood Watch and Slight Risk are in effect, there is a threat of severe storms through 6 pm.  A few supercells this morning across the northern Gulf and Florida Panhandle will move northward.  Then, redevelopment of a few severe storms is possible this afternoon.  The main threats will be torrential rain, damaging wind gusts, and hail, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

Elsewhere across the state, widespread showers and thunderstorms will occur through this evening.  A few wind gusts from 40-60 mph, hail, and heavy rainfall are possible from 1 pm through 8 pm south of I-20.  The tornado threat is very low.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms will occur across Alabama from late Sunday morning through the evening hours.  Once again, a few wind gusts from 40-60 mph, hail and heavy rainfall will be the main threats from 1 pm through 8 pm.

Yet another round of showers and thunderstorms will occur from Monday morning through the evening hours.  However, any threat of severe storms is expected to be east of our state.

On Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the northern half of Alabama.  Dry conditions will finally arrive on Wednesday and last until at least next Friday.

Total rainfall amounts through early Tuesday will generally be 1-3 inches with locally higher amounts in stronger storms, especially in the southeastern sections, where 6+ inches could occur.  Although there could be flooding in spots through Monday, the good news is there should be periods of little to no rainfall, which should lead to more localized rather than widespread flooding issues.
