CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette has recommended Shannon Anderson as the next principal of West Point Elementary School and Todd Johnsonas the next principal of Vinemont Middle School.
Anderson will assume the role at West Point Elementary, replacing Principal Michael Lindsey, who recently accepted the principal position at Hanceville Primary School. Anderson has more than two decades of experience in education, including 19 years in Morgan County Schools where she served as a fifth-grade math teacher, Title I and reading teacher, Jobs for Alabama Graduates (JAG) specialist and assistant principal at both Danville Middle and Danville High Schools. For the past two years, she has served as assistant principal at West Point High School, where she has continued her commitment to student success and instructional leadership.

Johnson will step into the role of principal at Vinemont Middle School, succeeding Kyle Chamblee, following the announcement of Chamblee’s promotion to Cullman County Schools transportation director. Johnson is a dedicated educational leader with over 22 years of experience in teaching, coaching and administration, all within the Vinemont school community. His roles have included middle school teacher, high school teacher and coach and most recently, assistant principal at Vinemont High School. He has a strong vision for academic excellence, student character development and community engagement.

Pending board approval, Anderson and Johnson will officially begin their new roles on July 1, 2025.
